Psilocybin Assisted Therapy
Just as my own journey of healing has shaped my approach to counseling, I'm excited to share that I'm expanding my practice to include an innovative and promising treatment: psilocybin-assisted therapy. This groundbreaking approach represents the next evolution in mental health care, and I'm honored to be training to offer this service to my clients.

What is Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy?
Psilocybin-assisted therapy combines the therapeutic benefits of psilocybin (the active compound in certain mushrooms) with professional psychotherapy in a safe, controlled, and legal environment. This isn't about recreational use—it's a carefully structured therapeutic process that has shown remarkable results in clinical research for treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and facilitating profound personal growth.
The therapy involves three essential phases:
-
Preparation sessions where we build trust, set intentions, and prepare you for the experience
-
Administration sessions where you receive psilocybin in a comfortable, supervised setting
-
Integration sessions where we process insights and incorporate them into your daily life
Why I'm Called to This Work
My personal journey of overcoming trauma and obstacles has taught me that healing often requires us to explore new territories—both within ourselves and in the therapeutic approaches we embrace. When I learned about the research showing psilocybin's potential to help people breakthrough long-standing patterns of depression, anxiety, and trauma, I knew this was a natural extension of my commitment to helping others heal.
Having worked extensively with complex trauma, grief, and life transitions, I've witnessed how traditional therapy can be transformative. Now, I'm excited to offer an additional tool that research suggests can accelerate and deepen the healing process for many people.

The Research Behind the Promise
Recent clinical studies have shown remarkable results:
-
Depression: Studies show significant improvements that can last months after treatment
-
PTSD and Trauma: Research indicates psilocybin can help people process and integrate traumatic experiences
-
Anxiety: Particularly effective for those facing end-of-life concerns and general anxiety disorders
-
Personal Growth: Many participants report lasting improvements in well-being, relationships, and life satisfaction
Organizations like Johns Hopkins, NYU, and COMPASS Pathways have conducted rigorous clinical trials, leading to breakthrough therapy designations from the FDA.
Preparing for This Journey
If you're curious about psilocybin-assisted therapy, our traditional therapy work can actually serve as excellent preparation. Many of the skills we develop in therapy—mindfulness, emotional awareness, and the ability to sit with difficult feelings—are valuable foundations for psilocybin work.

Whether you're dealing with:
-
Complex trauma that feels stuck despite traditional therapy
-
Depression or anxiety that hasn't fully responded to other treatments
-
Life transitions where you're seeking deeper clarity and direction
-
Spiritual or existential questions about meaning and purpose
Our current therapeutic work can help prepare you for the potential of psilocybin-assisted therapy when it becomes available.

Please don't hesitate to reach out. Whether you're a current client or someone new to my practice, I'm happy to discuss how both traditional therapy and future psilocybin-assisted therapy might support your healing journey.
